Sheffield 1898 Silver 16” Graduated Chunky Albert Chain, Tbar & Dog Clip

My passion for precious metals and my journey as a silversmith along with my love of history has allowed me to curate a special collection of Antique and Vintage finds that I cannot wait to share. 
I have a particular affection for Victorian Silver but some pieces extend into Edwardian and early 20th century. 
This particular piece is a single Albert chain complete with original T Bar and dog clasp
The chunky chain is 16” in length and is a graduated width which is a beefy 8.67mm at the widest and comes complete with its T bar which is 37.11mm long, Hallmarked Sheffield 1898. Makers mark HWA. Each link is also stamped with the lion passant. The original dog clip connects to what would have been the fob drop to form the necklace with the clasp just at the side in a nice contemporary way. Total weight is roughly 49.7g
Whilst this is a vintage pre loved piece and does have age related characteristics these only add to the charm of it. It has been polished and all damaged or loose links have been repaired or replaced to ensure the piece can be worn without worrying that it will become detached or lost.
