Assay Hallmarked Vintage Camera Lens ‘Monocle’ & 22” Silver Belcher Necklace

After my previous two vintage camera lens necklaces sold out I was desperate to make another. I picked up two more camera lenses from a local antique shop and here is another one transformed into a timeless heirloom piece. This necklace is something else. It’s modern and charming, big and luxurious. It’s completely unique and one of a kind. The lens is framed with lots of thick fine silver moulded around the edge to make the most of the lens and it’s obvious magnifying properties.
It’s a wonderful piece to set conversations going and functional at the same time if like me you can’t read the small print. 🙂
The lens is 59.5mm in diameter and 14mm at the widest. Being a lens it’s obviously domed on each side and being vintage it does have age related marks and scratches but that only adds to its history and means it’s got lots of character too.
The necklace weighs a total of 73g including the weight of the lens. The chain is a chunky oval belcher which is 22” long so it will hang nice and low when worn. The pendant is not permanently attached so the two can be worn together or separately. As it’s worn it will bounce the light in so many different ways like a huge crystal around your neck. The chain also bears my full London assay hallmark on the tag next to the traditional lobster claw clasp.
