Birmingham 1900 Silver 17” Chunky Albert Chain, Tbar & Twin Dog Clips

My passion for precious metals and my journey as a silversmith along with my love of history has allowed me to curate a special collection of Antique and Vintage finds that I cannot wait to share. 
I have a particular affection for Victorian Silver but some pieces extend into Edwardian and early 20th century. 
The chunky solid silver chain is 17” in length and is  9.3mm wide and unlike most Alberts which are graduated this is the same width all the way along. Whilst all the links are stamped with the lion passant most are worn or illegible but the year stamp is present showing 1900 with maker mark PPLD. One dog clip is original to the piece and also hallmarked but one is a replacement as the original was broken. The T bar does not spin and is fixed in its mount, it’s a nice length of 41.22mm. The chain is a very contemporary looking piece with a total weight of 83.6g
Whilst this is a vintage pre loved piece and does have age related characteristics these only add to the charm of it. It has been polished and all damaged or loose links have been repaired or replaced to ensure the piece can be worn without worrying that it will become detached or lost.
