Birmingham 1900 Silver 18” Chunky Graduated Albert Chain, Tbar & Dog Clip

My passion for precious metals and my journey as a silversmith along with my love of history has allowed me to curate a special collection of Antique and Vintage finds that I cannot wait to share. 
I have a particular affection for Victorian Silver but some pieces extend into Edwardian and early 20th century. 
Here we have a chunky graduated solid silver chain is 18” in length and is  9.1mm wide. Whilst all the links are stamped with the lion passant some are worn or illegible but the year stamp is present showing 1900 with maker mark K&Co. The T bar is not a spinning one, it’s a nice length of 43.37mm. The dog clip is original and dated 1899. The chain is a very contemporary looking piece with a total weight of 66.9g 126 years old!
Whilst this is a vintage pre loved piece and does have age related characteristics these only add to the charm of it. It has been polished and all damaged or loose links have been repaired or replaced to ensure the piece can be worn without worrying that it will become detached or lost.
