Chester 1907 Silver Ivy Leaf Pattern Vesta & 18” Hallmarked Open Curb Chain

My passion for precious metals and my journey as a silversmith along with my love of history has allowed me to curate a special collection of Antique and Vintage finds that I cannot wait to share. 
I have a particular affection for Victorian Silver but some pieces extend into Edwardian and early 20th century. 
Here we have a lovely ivy pattern vesta hallmarked silver Chester 1907, with a gilt interior. It has a blank cartouche on the front, and the lid opens and closes with a nice strong tight click. Makers mark S&BM. It’s a small oval shape, size 43.65mm x 23.89mm x 10.21mm. The Ivy leaf symbolises fidelity, everlasting love, eternity, and resilience due to its evergreen nature as well as adaptability and survival. A perfect way to hold sentimental treasures around your neck whilst on your travels and keeping them close to your heart. 
The vesta comes with the addition of a modern open curb link chain which is 18” in length and 5.3mm wide. Accompanied by a swivel dog clip clasp and my own assay hallmark tag.  It’s permanently attached to the vesta and is added with the intention of making this antique piece wearable whilst making sure the overall look is a sympathetic marriage and is in keeping. The total silver weight is roughly 32g
Whilst this is a vintage pre loved piece and does have age related characteristics these only add to the charm of it. It has been polished and any damaged or loose links as applicable have been repaired or replaced to ensure the piece can be worn without worrying that it will become detached or lost.
