Hallmarked Silver, Accent Seafoam Seaglass & Belcher Necklace 16”

Seafoam coloured seaglass is my all time favourite. There is something about the tone that mixes sky with sea and the feeling of summer sun on your face. 
This particular piece was initially intended as part of a multi glass necklace but it was such a symmetrical circle of loveliness that it commanded the stage all by itself. If incorporated it at the central point of a 4mm wide chunky sterling silver belcher in a contemporary way with a handmade hook clasp at the back and my trademark hallmark tag but the seaglass could be worn off centre as the mood takes you. The seaglass is framed just around the edge with shiny silver allowing natural light to make the most of the glass and the colour. It looks very nautical like a porthole in a boat. 
There is something very special about creating heirloom jewellery and recycling seaglass at the same time. The glass in this necklace is roughly 20mm in diameter & 8mm thick. Each piece of seaglass is one of a kind, different shapes, sizes and textures, tumbled around in the sea for years and years to give it its amazing worn surface. 
The necklace is 16” long in total and weighs around 20.5g.
