Hallmarked Silver Glass Horse Intaglio & Giant Bolt Clasp Belcher Necklace 18”

I picked up this absolutely stunning glass horse and hound intaglio from an antique shop from a glass specialist and I fell in love with it instantly toy. The weight and quality of the piece is simply breathtaking so I knew I had to make it into a statement necklace. 
No better way to showcase it than to frame it with lashings of highly polished sterling silver in an offset claw mount. It’s topped off with a huge bolt clasp and chunky belcher chain and my trademark assay hallmark tag. 
The intaglio is 47.57mm x 38.05mm x 9.62mm. The horse and hound design is in relief rather than etched into the glass so it’s very tactile and desirable. The setting with sterling silver around the edge and back of the piece with the four claws positioned at key points makes the most of both sides and allows as much light to reflect the contours. The total length of the pendant including the bail and ring is 68.6mm.
The chain is 18” long and 4mm thick and is an oval link belcher. The modern large bolt clasp fastener is permanently attached and is 18.2mm in diameter. 
The necklace weighs an amazing 57.3g so the whole thing is nice and substantial and whilst it’s designed as a whole piece the pendant can be removed so it can be worn on different chains and similarly the chain can be worn on its own or with additional adornments.
