Victorian Blue Marble Spinning Sphere & 24” Long Links Chain Fidget Necklace
Those of you who know me and my design style well know that lots of my jewellery collections include spheres, be those small or large, seaglass, gems or crystals, there is just something captivating about them especially when I transform them into my spinning sphere necklaces where there is lots of thick fine silver moulded just around the middle of the sphere. This allows it to moves completely freely within its frame but is held very securely so won’t fall out. It’s very tactile with plenty of movement.
This collection of spheres were from an antiques shop and have all the tell tale signs of being Victorian. The bright blue colour, the bubble inclusions and the uneven marked surface likely from the pontil which is used in the glass making process. They are all roughly 22mm in diameter. With those marks and inclusions they are each unique and have lots of character and because they move around in their silver frame they bounce the light in so many different ways.
There are only three blue coloured ones available which I have photographed together for comparison but listed separately on the website. This one is supplied with my completely handmade 24” sterling silver long links chain. (The third on the main picture) Each link is made from 1mm wide hand forged silver wire and soldered one by one and each is roughly 32mm long by 5.4mm wide The bail is my anchor shackle bail. The total length of the pendant including the bail is 38.6mm. This necklace is stamped with my full London assay hallmark on a tag next to the handmade hook clasp.
The necklace weighs a total of 29.9g including the weight of the sphere. The pendant is permanently attached to the central point of the chain.
I also have some Victorian green spinning sphere marble necklaces listed that are slightly larger which have also featured on my Instagram reels.
The pendant will be sent in my signature gift box.
